In August, the spiraling tower will open on the west coast of Denmark.

The Wadden Sea National Park on the Danish west coast has long been known for its birdlife and abundance of fresh oysters. With the opening of the new tower, the architecture fans will have a great, new reason to visit.

The Marsh Tower rises 25 meters above the flat marsh lands, and the added height will expand the panoramic views from 3.6 kilometers at normal eye level to 18.2 kilometers, making it possible to see all the way across the island of Rømø to the sea on the other side.

In a time where many spend extra time exploring nature, the purpose of the tower is to add new perspectives and ways of experiencing the area.

Behind the tower is world-famous Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG, which has created innovative building and urban space around the globe. In Denmark, they are behind buildings like the LEGO House, the ski slope CopenHill and the Islands Brygge Harbour Bath.

In autumn, a Bjarke Ingels-designed hotel will also open a 20-minute drive up the coast from the Marsh Tower.
