Søndervig Beach in West Jutland is one of Denmark's best beach and a true favourite among Danes. A popular seaside resort for the last century, Søndervig is a dynamic beach backed by rolling sand dunes on the North Sea.

Blåvand Beach

The 40km-long Blåvand Beach, near Hvide Sande in West Jutland, gives you the chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of life and to surround yourself in bracing nature. It's also one of the best places in Denmark to look for amber!

Henne Beach

Henne Beach was named one of the best places to visit in Europe by CNN in 2019, and it's not difficult to understand why: Long, white sandy beach, sheltered dunes and unique sunsets. Throw in ample hiking and wildlife trails and the two Michelin-starred restaurant, Henne Kirkeby Kro, and you have a fantastic holiday destination.

Blokhus Beach

Blokhus Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Europe. The fine, white sand and high, wind-protected dunes make this beach an absolute highlight. In addition, you can drive from Rødhus in the south to Løkken in the north along the beach by car.

Saltum Beach

The wide, child-friendly sandy beach of Saltum, where the Blue Flag blows, joins the beach at Blokhus. The locals even speak of the 'Alps' - that may sound exaggerated to foreigners, but measured by Danish standards, the 100 metres high dunes are like mountains.

Bisnap Beach

Bisnap beach is between Hou and Hals. The beach is child friendly, clean and quiet. There is a handicapped accessible path down to the beach. Here you can find great shells or even amber with a little luck.

Hestehoved Beach

Hestehoved Beach, on the island of Lolland, has beautiful clean waters and one of the longest bathing jetties in Denmark. Head to the beach right next to the recreational area along Nakskov Fjord and close to the market town of Nakskov.

Copenhagen has its own beach park! 5 kilometres of sandy beach and outdoor activities on an island and lagoon. It's as popular with families as it is with young locals, due to its calm waters and open spaces. Get here by metro from the city centre.

Karlby and Sangstrup Klint

If you like pebbly beaches, this one, nestled between two beautiful cliffs in the Aarhus region, is for you. Karlby Kling and Sangstrup Klint are two cliffs separated by a wide river valley and a popular place to look for sea urchin fossils. Don't forget to look out to the sea, too; it's the perfect place to spot porpoises!

Almindsø

Lake Almindsø, near Silkeborg, is a popular lake for dips on those hot summer days. There are two large lakes, east and west, and several smaller ones. The lake is, naturally, surrounded by four kilometres of stunning nature to walk through – rain or shine.
