Sloe Pete's Hideout

In the heart of Vorupør, within walking distance to the waves, the wild nature and shopping, lies Sloe Pete’s Hideout, a unique surf hostel and the “hyggeligste” in Thy.

The house has three rooms with a total of 8 beds: A dorm room with four bunk beds and two rooms with a double bed.

There is floor heating on the ground floor. There’s a kitchen and dining room, bathroom with a sauna, as well as an upstairs lounge with a wood stove and ocean views from two sides.

In the garden you can enjoy Sun all day plus shelter from the wind so you can enjoy lazing in one of the hammocks after a surf session or whatever you’ve been up to that day. Come alone, come as a couple or a group, and meet and share good times with other surfers and nature lovers.

A few lines about me:

I, or Sloe Pete as I was dubbed when I moved to Vorupør three years ago, starting surfing in Australia during a sabbatical year, back when the only kind of surfing known to Danes was wind surfing.

Back in Denmark, I began studying in Copenhagen and tried to get away in search of waves as often as possible, and over the years, increasingly often to Thy.

After some years of deliberation, I sold my flat in waveless Copenhagen, packed my boards and belongings and headed out west to realise an old dream of opening my very own surf hostel.

Inspired by many of the hostels and surf camps I have visited over the years, I have tried to bring to Vorupør some of the best things from where I have enjoyed some great moments, in order to create a “hyggelig” atmosphere in which to meet other people, have a good experience and a good night’s sleep.
