Gjerrild Nordstrand
Gjerrild Nordstrand on Djursland's northers coast is a very child friendly beach with shallow water and fine sand.
The beach is the perfect place for a picnic or a fun day at the beach. Build a sandcastle, play ball in the shallow waters or go for a swim in the clean ocean.
Sand, gravel, amber and bird migration
Gjerrild Nordstrand is one of the best places to see migrating raptors. There are birds all year - but it's best in springtime. On the beach, you will also find a building with a small exhibition about the time when Gjerrild was a big part of the production of gravel in Denmark.
On the beach there are good opportunities to find amber in the seaweed washed up after strong NW and N winds.
