Nordby gl. Posthus og Bibliotek

Nordby gl. Posthus og Bibliotek is located in the old school building next to the famous bell tower. The building is as it was established in the 1930s. There is also an exhibition about Nordby’s history.

In an interior from the 1930′s you can find tourist information, borrow books or sit in the reading corner. You can also find useful information on the internet or on the shelves with literature from and about Samsø. A little photo series on the walls tell the history of the building, the Post Office and the library.

The building was erected in 1878 on the city’s public land and the town’s main school until the new school (now Samsø Free School) was built in 1916. Then it served as a preparatory school until 1965.

In a room in the same building is an exhibition about Nordby’s history and a fine model of the old city. Here it is possible to get acquainted with the history of the great old village.

The exhibition is open from sunrise to sunset during the summer.
