The Cultural Production Center Godsbanen

Godsbanen is a 10,500 m2 cultural centre in the old freight yard in the centre of Aarhus. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to experience, learn or create yourself!

At Godsbanen you can experience exhibitions, theatre, readings, concerts, markets and much more. You can work in the open workshops, pick and choose from more than 700 annual events and much more.

See the Godsbanen calendar here (danish).

Architectural gem

Godsbanen is also worth a visit for its stunning architecture. Climb to the top of the sloping and steep roof structure for a beautiful view over the city and all the way to Lake Brabrand.

Godsbanens many offers, actors and cultural genres

Godsbanen is home to a wide range of actors, including Teater Katapult, the event venue Radar, the restaurant Spiselauget, Åbne Scene, Aarhus Billedkunstcenter, Aarhus Litteraturcenter, Kunstnerforeningen Corporum, Det Poetiske Kvarter and around 30 project spaces from all cultural areas. They organise events, exhibitions and festivals, not only at Godsbanen, but throughout the city.

The inner courtyard of Godsbanen is an ideal place to enjoy a packed lunch or something delicious from the restaurant Spiselauget.

In a cluster of old DSB buildings behind Godsbanen itself and the new Aarhus School of Architecture is the Institut for (X), a cultural platform for entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, artists and craftsmen - a very special piece of Aarhus. Cultural entrepreneurs, voluntary organisations, artists and cultural workers live side by side in an area often referred to as a micro-Berlin. It's teeming with life and exciting projects, and everyone is welcome to drop by.
