Culture Night (Kulturnatten)

Place: Copenhagen. Dates: 10 October 2025

Mark your calendar for Kulturnatten (Culture Night) in Copenhagen — the city's biggest one-night cultural extravaganza happening on the Friday of week 41 — yes, we Danes love our week numbers! From hidden art galleries to secret concerts, the city becomes a playground of discovery.

Knejpe Festival

Place: Helsingør. Dates: October 2025 (Exact Dates TBD)

As the saying went on great sailing ships, “You aren’t a real sailor if you haven’t had a good beating in Helsingør!”. Knejpe Festival (the Danish word for tavern) takes you back to an era when the city was full of sailors from around the world. The local taverns host the festival with sea shanties and a little cultural maritime history.

Hubertus Hunt

Place: Klampenborg. Dates: 2 November 2025

The Hubertus Hunt is an annual drag hunt held in the scenic Deer Park in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen. It marks the last hunting day of the year. 160 hunters on horseback participate, and over 40,000 spectators enjoy the traditional picnic in the beautiful Deer Park.

Nordic Adventure Film Festival

Place: Copenhagen & Aarhus. Dates: Nov – Dec 2025 (Exact Dates TBD)

Scandinavia’s largest adventure film festival, N.A.F.F., is a cinema-based festival started in Copenhagen in 1996. Its mission is to support local talent in making adventure films, bridge knowledge between old and new talent, and inspire new filmmakers to explore the world and share their experiences.

Christmas in Den Gamle By

Place: Aarhus. Dates: 16 Nov 2024 – 2 Jan 2025

Den Gamle By, or 'The Old Town' Museum in Aarhus, is one of the world’s oldest and largest open-air museums and features more than 75 townhouses from across Denmark. You can ride through the museum in a horse-drawn carriage and visit the Christmas-decorated boutiques and market stalls. And don't forget to visit the Christmas House – a labyrinth of Christmas elves.

Christmas in Tivoli Gardens

Place: Copenhagen: Dates: 15 November 2024 – 5 January 2025


Visiting the Tivoli Gardens at Christmas is a long and dear tradition among Copenhageners. Don't miss the famous amusement parks’ Christmas lights, markets, and festive entertainment. The Christmas market has some 60 stalls, all selling gifts and decorations, arts and crafts, delicious snacks, and hot drinks to keep you warm.

Santa Lucia Kayak Parade

Place: Copenhagen: Dates: 13 December 2024


Celebrate Santa Lucia the Copenhagen way — with a magical kayak parade. On this night, decorated kayaks will glide through the city’s canals, lighting up the winter darkness with their festive glow. Kayakers and people watching them all along the canals will be singing Santa Lucia and Christmas carols. Don’t forget your camera and some warm clothes to enjoy this cosy evening!
