Designmuseum Danmark

Designmuseum Danmark offers displays of decorative art, crafts, and industrial designs from the Western world and Asia.

Earlier, the museum was the first public hospital in Denmark, The Royal Frederik's Hospital, where Søren Kierkegaard was admitted and died in 1855.

Apart from the permanent collection, the museum also presents temporary exhibitions. See the event list for more information.

Internationally acclaimed Danish designers Poul Henningsen, Kaare Klint, and Arne Jacobsen have left their indelible mark on Danish design and architecture as reflected in some of the museum's collections.

Showroom and café

The museum shop is an excellent place to buy Danish industrial designs, ceramics, glass, and fabrics! In summer, the café has outdoor seating in the beautiful Grønnegård courtyard.

The showroom 'Officinet' hosts an exhibit of crafts by specially selected Danish artists. Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 12:00 - 16:00.
